EXTINCTION OF WILDLIFE

HOW CAN WE LIVE WITHOUT

THESE MAGNIFICENT ANIMALS?
WHEN WILL MANKIND    EVER STOP KILLING?

Mankind will not stop before all wildlife is destroyed. An old Indian Chief said once: “Man destroys forests, poison the waters and when it is all gone they realize they can not eat money.”  This was already stated at the very beginning of the 20th century when everything was still plentiful but he had the foresight for the future. There never was a truer word spoken.

Experts warned again that Lions, Tigers Elephants and Sharks heading for extinction if nothing more effort is made to stop it.  The experts also point out that TV documentary, Wildlife Safaris and Zoos paint a pretty picture and let us belief everything is well.

PLEASE BE SO KIND AND CLICK ON ADVERTS.  THANK YOU.

The problem is that organised criminal gangs are killing animals to deliver the demand on body parts either for medicine, trophies and special dishes like fin soup. The prices have risen astronomical and therefore this trade is very lucrative.

The African lions’ numbers were in 1980 around 35,000. Today it is estimated it had gone down to half of its numbers.

The tigers fair even worse. From 100,000 a hundred years ago they are down to mere 3.500.

Elephants could be extinct within five years. At the moment they are about 400,000 in the wild but they way they get slaughtered for their ivory even 400,000 don’t take long to extinct this beautiful species. It is on record that last year 38 million sharks were caught mostly for their fins which supposed to be delicates in fin soup.

Other species like the rhino and polar bears are not better off. The rhino’s horn which is in high demand for Chinese medicine has a price tag high than gold.

Will Travers of the Born Free Foundation is calling on the 177 member countries to prevent international organised crime to operate so freely. He is appealing to them ahead of the International summit in Bangkok. The meeting is on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.

If it is not stopped soon wild species will end up in protected fortresses with armed guards surrounding them. National Reserves and Parks with an army of heavily armed rangers and wardens surrounding them is not the ideal world.
